My favorite drawing medium is graphite (pencil). It is all about the “smudge”. The number of things you can do with graphite is pretty impressive. The effect changes with the type of paper you use and how bold you dare to be.

I enjoy working in black and white just as much, if not more, than I do working in color. It allows me to use negative space effectively and without the distraction of color, I can really focus on great drawing and using the elements of value (light and dark) to build composition.
