(These are samples of acrylic glaze technique)
My approach to portraiture is a little different. As one of my clients once said,
"You don't just paint dogs, you create entire worlds."
My portraits are in Acrylic glaze or pastel over wash on panels. I work on panels and not canvas or linen because the panel surface is more suited to my technique.
My portrait prices vary according to size, complexity and number of figures. Every project is different. I have included a brief price guideline below but inquiries are suggested to narrow down pricing.
(these are samples of a pastel "studies")
New! 12" X 18" pastel study of one or two dogs - $850.00 with mat included.
The mat fits a standard 18" X 24" frame which is easily available on-line or in hobby stores. I am happy to offer this elegant and simple format at an affordable price. I call it a study because I focus the detail on the dogs and the background is suggested and sketched in (as opposed to being fully developed).
While I prefer to work from my own photos I will be glad to look at existing photos to see if I can work from them. I am also happy to give you tips on how to photgraph your dog if you are out of my travel range.
Head only portraits begin at $1,200.00 for a size of around 16" X 16", acrylic glaze.
Fully developed acrylic glaze portraits (includes a fully developed environment)begin at $2,400.00 for one figure for a size of around 16" X 20".
A complete price list is available upon request. I prefer to work from my own resource photographs whenever possible. Prices do not include framing.
